Vance Havner was a gifted preacher and writer. He was born in North Carolina in 1901 in a community called Jugtown, and he passed away in 1986. He began preaching at the age of twelve and was ordain to the gospel ministry at the age of sixteen. In his book Seasonings, he referred to the dead state of the church in his day and his assessment aptly defines the church in our day.
Quote, “We are challenged these days, but not changed, convicted, but not converted. We hear, but do not and thereby we deceive ourselves.”
